Lille have agreed to sign winger Dimitri Payet from Saint Etienne, les Verts coach Christophe Galtier has confirmed.
The France international has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, but it is now clear that the Reds have lost the race for his signature.
Saint Etienne boss Christophe Galtier has revealed the news at a press conference.
“Dimitri, LOSC and ASSE have reached an agreement,” Galtier was quoted as saying.
According to L’Équipe. Lille have agreed to pay 9 million euros plus bonuses for the highly rated winger.
Payet will sign a contract with les Dogues subject to passing a medical on Tuesday.
