French Ligue 1 side Lille have made a fresh approach to the Brazilian side Sao Paulo in regard to the proposed transfer of striker Luis Araujo.
Having seen the Brazilian giants reject their previous bid, Les Dogues have returned with an improved offer by €6 million to whopping €20 million for the 20-year-old forward.
According to reports from the ESPN Brazil, Sao Paolo were at first unwilling to open talks with the French side, but the improved offer has opened the negotiations which are being intermediated by the businessmen Guliano Bertolucci, who has close ties with the French club.
Araujo has only joined Sao Paulo in 2016 and was seen as a future investment, but his talents have not gone unnoticed by the Ligue 1 side. The 20-year-old striker has so far made 26 appearances for his club and scored two goals.
Sao Paulo are believed to hold 70% of the economic rights on the player, while the remaining 30% are still owned by his previous club Mirassol.
