Lille set Jonathan David price

LOSC Lille have become resigned to the fact that keeping Jonathan David in their ranks past this summer will be difficult, as they expect a number of top clubs across Europe to swoop for the Canadian attacker. With that in mind, according to Fabrizio Romano, they’ve decided that a fee of €65 million would be enough for them to accept his departure.

Being very fast and two-footed, David is versatile enough to play in a variety of attacking roles, be it on the left, right, or as an attacking midfielder, but his best position is that of a centre-forward. In 33 games in all competitions so far this season, the 23-year-old has scored 22 goals and provided four assists, and he’s been one of the key men as Lille strive to secure a place in Ligue 1’s top five spots that warrant European qualification.

Having left Ottawa ISC in 2018 to join KAA Gent’s Under-21 side, David spent two years in Belgium before joining Lille. His contract at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy will have two years left to run at the end of the season.

In the past, David was linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, all of which could be in the market for a new striker this summer.
