French newspaper L’Equipe is reporting that Lille are stepping up their efforts to sign French defender Sebastien Corchia from Sochaux.
With starting right-back Franck Beria sidelined through a shoulder problem, les Dogues are determined to sign him a replacement by the time January window closes.
And it is clear Lille have made Sochaux’s Sebastien Corchia their number one priority, having submitted an official proposal for the player’s services.
L’Equipe has suggested the offer was rejected by les Lionceaux, but their league rivals are expected to return with an increased bid.
Sebastien Corchia has a contract until June 2015, but with Sochaux already ten points adrift of safety, chances are he will be looking to leave as early as January.
Meanwhile, Lille damaged their top 3 hopes as they were beaten by Saint Etienne at the weekend, but les Dogues are 4/7 favourites to return to winning ways against Rennes on Friday.
