According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have stepped up efforts to sell Victor Lindelof this summer as they seek to revamp their centre-back department.
At the moment, manager Erik ten Hag is very short on options in the heart of defence, with Rafael Varane already gone from the club, Lisandro Martinez preparing to represent Argentina in the Copa America final, and a deal with Villarreal already in place for the sale of Willy Kambwala. Harry Maguire has recently returned to training from a muscle injury.
Though Lindelof was among the first to report for the pre-season preparations, the 29-year-old Sweden international obviously has no place in Ten Hag’s plans for the future. United are believed to be open to offers for Christian Eriksen and Aaron Wan-Bissaka too, and there has been plenty of interest in Scott McTominay and Facundo Pellistri.
Further more, the 20-time English champions are in advanced discussions with Olympique Marseille over a proposed transfer of Mason Greenwood, who spent last season on loan at Getafe.
