According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Jesse Lingard’s representatives have held talks with Nice over a potential loan move.
An official approach is set to take place next week, however, Manchester United have not yet decided whether or not they want to let Lingard go during the current transfer window.
Lingard’s contract is set to run out in summer 2022 but after not starting a Premier League game for over a year, it’s clear to see he isn’t a primary option for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer within the current squad. That doesn’t mean he can’t improve elsewhere before returning but based on the evidence, Solskjaer isn’t keen on making him a vital piece of the puzzle at Old Trafford.
There’s a case to be made that he should stay in the Premier League as he already knows how this division works, but we’ve also seen the benefits of English players heading overseas.
