The Mirror understands that Jesse Lingard is set to be offered a new contract with Manchester United that will see him double his wages.
The twenty-two year old has broken into the United first team this season, racking up eight appearances in all competitions and scored his first goal for the club in the 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion earlier this month.
He also received his first senior call up when he was drafted into to Roy Hodgson’s squad for last week’s friendly against France and his progress is set to be rewarded with improved terms.
Talks are set to begin after Christmas, but the contract is set to be incentive based, and could see the attacking midfielder earn £50,000 per week.
Before this season, all of Lingard’s first team action came in loan spells with Leicester City, Birmingham City, Brighton and Hove Albion and Derby County over the past three seasons.
