Spanish media outlet Marca claims that Barcelona super star Lionel Messi does not want to extend his current deal with the Spanish giants for the time being.

Such revelations have sparked plenty of speculation in Spain with aforementioned source claiming that Argentine wizard could be packing his bags for a 2018 departure, once his current deal runs out.

Barcelona chiefs are working hard to wrap up contract extensions with all members of their lethal MSN trio, but according to Marca Messi is reluctant to sign a new deal and could be persuaded to leave Camp Nou with Manchester City emerging as the only viable destination for one of the world’s best players.

Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola and directors of football Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano are believed to have big influence on the Argentine forward.

Guardiola reportedly phoned Messi and Neymar in September to inform them about his wish to work with them one day, and Spanish media believe that one part of his wish could be granted as early as 2018.
