Lippi: “Criscito and Marchisio will play from the beginning”

“They’ll play from the beginning,” Marcello Lippi said on Tuesday afternoon. “I’ve told them that we haven’t got time for them to grow up.

“They are young players, but I need them to demonstrate that they are already ‘old’ players,” continued the tactician.

Although nothing is at stake in Basle tomorrow evening, Lippi is looking to silence his critics after the side’s Confederations Cup humiliation.

“We can’t allow ourselves to start the game at a low level, from now on Italy must play at the highest levels possible,” he added.
