(GSM) – Former Italy boss Marcello Lippi has reiterated his desire to return to football management, insisting he is not finished yet.
2006 World Cup winner Lippi, who was replaced by Cesare Prandelli as Italy manager after the disappointing 2010 World Cup campaign, maintains still does not know what team he will coach next – but confirms he will be returning to the coaching bench eventually.
“I will return to a bench. I don’t know where, but I’m certainly not an ex-coach.
“I am here as a representative of the football world, because I have been and continue to be a part of it,” he said during a charity event in Tuscany.
“Of course I made some mistakes, but people have forgotten all the good work done in the past, which was only four years ago.
With Claudio Ranieri under increasing pressure , the 52-year-old former Juventus manager has been linked to the Roma post.
Liverpool, Olympique Marseille and Olympique Lyon have all been touted as possible destinations for Lippi.
