Lisandro Lopez talks up Lyon stay; Pirlo invites Nesta to Juve

Lisandro Lopez talks up Lyon stay

Lyon star Lisandro Lopez has reassured club fans by saying that he plans to stay at Gerland for years to come.

With the French giants largely struggling to fulfill their ambitions this season, the Argentine striker is constantly linked with a move away from the club.

However, the player, whose contract at Gerland does not expire for another two years says that he is on the verge of signing a new contract at the club.

“We talked, we agree but nothing is signed. My intention is to stay, but in football you never know,” Lopez told L’Equipe.

“There are players who leave after extending, others of whom we think it’s impossible for them to leave.

“Take Toulalan for example. I thought he would play for Lyon until 40.”

Lyon currently occupy 4th place in the Ligue 1 standings and they sit three points behind the Champions League places.

Pirlo invites Nesta to Juve

Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo admits that he has invited Milan defender Alessandro Nesta to join him in Turin.

Pirlo swapped San Siro for Juventus Arena in the summer and has had a major impact on the Bianconeri’s Serie A title push.

Milan defender Alessandro Nesta has been widely tipped to follow in Pirlo’s footsteps and make a free transfer to Juventus at the end of the season seeing that he has yet to extend his contract with the Rossoneri.

“Yes, I’ve discussed such an option with Nesta, but these are personal things,” the 32-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.

“He plays for a great team and he is free to choose what decision to make. We’ll see what happens at the end of the season.”

The two sides are fighting each other for the league title, which adds even more spice to rumours linking Nesta with a switch to Turin.

Milan linked to Sandro

Milan are readying summer bid for Tottenham midfielder Sandro, Italian newspaper La Stampa understands.

The Rossoneri are set to continue the squad rejuvenation process and they are pondering a bid for Tottenham’s Sandro.

La Stampa claims that Spurs value the Brazilian at €13 million, which is well within Milan’s price range.

The 23-year-old, who arrived to White Hart Lane from Internacional in 2010, has a contract until June 2016 with Spurs.

Sandro has been in and out of the starting line-up this season, but it is believed that he will be relegated to the bench when Tom Huddlestone recovers from injury.

This basically means that he would consider a summer bid from Milan, even if he would face a stiff competition for starting places at San Siro as well.
