Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa has come up on the radar of Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, a report in Corriere dello Sport claims.
The versatile 20-year-old is primarily deployed as a winger, but is also more than capable of performing well as a central or attacking midfielder. His signature would go a long way in filling the gap made by the sale of Philippe Coutinho, though the youngster still has some way to go before he reaches the level of the €160 million Brazilian playmaker.
The interest from Liverpool is known at Fiorentina, and the Viola have reportedly expressed their valuation of the player at €50 million. Should the interest prove genuine, if Klopp really sees Chiesa as a potentially important player in his team at any point in the future, the €50 million price-tag should not pose a problem too big for the Reds, who have shown with the signings of Naby Keita and Virgil van Dijk that they are ready to spend big in order to properly challenge for the Premier League title.
