Liverpool travel to the WWK Arena to face German side Augsburg in the first leg of the last 32 of the Europa League tonight, and are hoping to come out on top to take an aggregate lead going into the second leg at Anfield.
Coming off the back of three league wins from their last five away outings, Liverpool are in good form. The Merseysiders topped their Europa League group with an unbeaten record from six games too, so they have been formidable in the competition so far.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will be full of confidence with how poor opponents Augsburg have been ahead of tonight’s clash too. The German Bundesliga outfit have gone four games without a win in their domestic division, and were inconsistent in Europe.
A late flurry of wins in their group saw them through in second-place, but the gulf in class between them and Liverpool could play a factor, Klopp isn’t likely to rest too many first-team players for the bout, which means the Reds will boast a stronger lineup then that of the Germans.
