Competition: Champions League
Market: Liverpool to win against Ludogorets
Odds: 2/9 @ Ladbrokes
Liverpool’s wait for Champions League football is over, with Brendan Rodgers’ side facing Bulgarian side PFC Ludogorets Razgrad tomorrow in their first group game of the new European campaign. They’re not in the best form, however, with the Reds having lost two of their last three league games.
Nevertheless, their opponents aren’t the strongest, and with home advantage Liverpool are being given odds of 12/5 by Coral to get all three points. They can’t afford anything less than a win either, as their group has Real Madrid and FC Basel, so it’s imperative Rodgers’ men get maximum points in both home and away legs against Ludogorets.
Liverpool will be without first-choice striker Daniel Sturridge, which means Mario Balotelli will likely start up front for Tuesday’s game. Rickie Lambert could play a part too, but it’s unlikely Rodgers would risk his two main strikers in a game that his side should comfortably win anyway.
Aston Villa earned a shock 1-0 win against Liverpool at Anfield only a few days ago, but the players will be putting that behind them to get a result tomorrow.
