Competition: Europa League
Market: Liverpool to win against Rubin Kazan
Odds: 8/15 @ William Hill

Liverpool host Rubin Kazan in the Europa League on Thursday night, which is manager Jurgen Klopp’s first home game since taking charge. The Reds are big favourites to come out on top at Anfield, and victory over their Russian opposition could see them o top of the group depending on results. Liverpool haven’t won in the competition yet this season, so they’re desperate to end the wait to boost their chances of qualifying for the next round.

Klopp’s side drew 0-0 against Tottenham in his debut game as manager, and given the Reds’ limp showing, there was little he could really take from the performance. Liverpool’s form in Europe has been worrying early on, with the Merseysiders dropping points to Bordeaux and Sion. Draws have been commonplace for the Reds this season, but they need to start winning soon.

Liverpool have only won once in 90 minutes in their last 10 games in all competitions, so it certainly won’t be easy for them to get a result. However, Rubin’s form may give them hope. The Russians have been the whipping boys of Group B this season, and have been even worse in their domestic league. Rubin have lost eight of their 12 league games this campaign, so Liverpool should be in pole position to finally get off the mark in Europe.

Having home advantage will suit the Reds, with the Merseysiders having lost only once at Anfield, and with their opposition having picked up just one away win in their league and Europe, Liverpool’s wait for a Europa League victory could be coming to an end.
