Liverpool have accepted a bid of £6million for England international midfielder Jonjo Shelvey, Sky Sports understands.
The 21 year old is now set to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical with the Welsh side, who are preparing for their third season in the Premier League and a European campaign after clinching the League Cup back in February.
Newly promoted Crystal Palace had also been interested in the 21 year old, but they failed to match the Welsh side’s offer.
Shelvey began his career with Charlton Athletic before securing a £1.7million switch to Anfield in May 2010.
He made sixty-nine appearances in three seasons with the Merseyside club, scoring seven goals, but has been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Brendan Rodgers, who is preparing a new look side for the forthcoming campaign.
Shelvey has one full international cap for England, and most recently featured in the under 21’s unsuccessful appearance at the European Championships last month.
