Liverpool agree deal for Cissokho

Liverpool are set to complete the signing of French defender Aly Cissokho from Valencia, according to Spanish radio station Cadena Ser.

The Reds have reportedly reached an agreement with the player, but they have yet to agree a transfer fee with los Che.

Valencia appear open to both season-long loan and permanent transfer and while the talks have progressed a great deal over the past few days, they have yet to be completed.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is a big admirer of the player and he hopes the Frenchman can provide competition for Jose Enrique on the left flank.

Aly Cissokho only joined Valencia last summer from Lyon, but he hasn’t quite managed to prove his worth at Mestalla.

The 25-year-old began the season as a first choice left-back, but later lost his place to Andres Guardado, although he did manage to score 2 goals in 25 La Liga appearances for los Che.
