Liverpool are weighing up January move for Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez, according to Daily Mirror.
The Reds first showed interest in the 24-year-old footballer when it looked as though Luis Suarez would be leaving.
But, even with the Uruguayan staying at Anfield, Liverpool are considering a January move for the Southampton star.
The problem is that Arsenal are also keen, but the Reds do appear to be leading the chase for the player’s signature at the moment.
Jay Rodriguez has just received his first England call-up after impressing in the opening exchanges for Southampton.
The former Burnley player has scored a total of 3 goals in 11 Premier League matches this season, although his starting berth is in danger now that Pablo Osvaldo is set to return into action.
Southampton climbed to third in the Premiership standings with a resounding triumph over Hull City, with Saints no less than 4/1 for a top 6 finish.
