According to reports in England and Spain, Manchester United and Liverpool have joined Barcelona in the pursuit for Valencia wing wizard David Silva. Barcelona were reportedly close to a deal for Silva, but now the English giants have leaped ahead in the race.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to add to his attacking options, according to Setanta Sports. David Silva could be a cunning addition, according to the report, as he can play either on the left wing or behind a striker.
Liverpool have been spectators in the Silva race since the beginning of the summer, but now Liverpool’s American owners want to buy the Spaniard as compensation for their failure to fund the Gareth Barry deal, according to News of the World.
Both reports suggest that Silva could be bought for about £19 million as Valencia are feeling the financial effects of a disastrous season.
