Liverpool and Manchester City keen on Denis Zakaria

Liverpool are interested in signing Denis Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2021, according to Bild, as relayed by Sport Witness. It has been reported that defending Premier League champions are among the clubs who want to secure the services of the 24-year-old defensive midfielder for next season and beyond.

Atletico Madrid and Manchester City are the other two clubs who are keen on the Switzerland international, according to the report, which has added that the defensive midfielder has refused to sign an extension to his contract at Monchengladbach which runs out in the summer of 2022.

According to WhoScored, Zakaria has made eight starts and five substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Monchengladbach so far this season, scoring one goal in the process. The Switzerland international has also played 111 minutes in the Champions League and has made one substitute appearance in the DFB Pokal this campaign, according to WhoScored.
