In a charity game held annually at Anfield, Liverpool and AC Milan rounded up some absolute legends of the game, and the retired players showed everyone present that their skills still remain superb.
It was Liverpool Legends who won the 80-minute game by 3-2. Robbie Fowler opened the scoring with a superbly taken goal. Djibril Cisse made it two with a great run in behind the Milan defence and a clever poke past goalkeeper Christian Abbiati. Andrea Pirlo halved the score with a trademark free-kick, before Guiseppe Pancaro equalized with a great strike from 20 yards.
But what probably turned back the clock the most was the last-minute winner, scored at the Kop end, right in front of the most die-hard Liverpool fans, by the iconic Steven Gerrard.
