(GSM) – Liverpool have denied reports that Yossi Benayoun about to move to Russia to play for Dinamo Moscow. Dinamo had claimed that the midfielder had agreed terms with them would move to Moscow in the January transfer window.
Dinamo have already signed Liverpool’s out-of-favour striker Andriy Voronin to Russia. Dinamo Moscow sporting director Konstantin Sarsania insisted the Israel captain’s move was at an advanced stage.
“It is true that we have come to an agreement with the player’s agent,” said Sarsania
“In the next two days, Liverpool will make their own decision.”
However, the Reds have quickly moved to deny that their 29-year-old is moving away from Anfield and insist that Benayoun is simply going nowhere.
“The player is not for sale, it’s as simple as that,” said a club spokesman on Liverpool’s offical website.
Benayoun is currently injured having fractured a rib in Liverpool’s FA Cup exit to Reading earlier this month. Benayoun has been a top performer Liverpool this season and has three more years left to run on his current deal.
