Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison played for Everton back in 2020/21, when he openly boasted about injuring Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara – for which he got sent off. Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford injured the ACL of Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk in the same game, avoiding punishment altogether.
On Thursday, Van Dijk and Richarlison met in the Carabao Cup semifinal second leg, where Liverpool thrashed Spurs 4-0, and the two of them made their feelings clear with a tussle in the fourth minute already. Van Dijk couldn’t resist having another dig at the Brazilian later, before the latter was forced off with an injury.
