Liverpool chasing Negredo

Liverpool are keen on signing Almeria star Alvaro Negredo this summer, according to Sky Sports News.

Negredo has been a hit at Almeria, scoring 32 goals in his two seasons at the club, and has also been linked with Fulham and Aston Villa.

Real Madrid have first option to sign Negredo for just £4.4million until the end of June and reports claim they are likely to activate and sell him on for around £9.8million.

Negredo himself has admitted he would be keen on a move to Liverpool and that the Reds have made contact.

“To play next to Fernando Torres at Anfield is a dream and any player would accept that,” he told Sky Sports.

“But I prefer to talk about reality and I have not spoken with Rafa Benitez, but I do know that some contact exists between the clubs.”
