Liverpool look set to beat a host of European clubs to the signing of Shakthar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to the Mirror.
The Armenian international is due to fly to Merseyside to undergo a medical at Melwood on Tuesday, with manager Brendan Rodgers hoping to wrap up the deal by the end of the week.
Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint Germain and Juventus had also been linked with a move for the 24 year old, who scored twenty-four goals in just twenty-nine league appearances last season.
The Reds have been linked with a number of new additions, with Mkhitaryan by far the most expensive at around £20million, though the deal looks set to be part funded by the sale of Andy Carroll, who himself is due a medical at West Ham United.
Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas is on the verge of completing his transfer to the club, while Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is also set to be approached.
