Liverpool are on the verge of signing Jordan Henderson and Phil Jones, according to The Sun.
The Reds have come one step closer to signing the Sunderland hotshot after raising their bid to £18.5 million, which is just short of Sunderland’s valuation of the player.
Liverpool are looking to close the deal before Henderson flies to Denmark, where he will take part in the Under-21 European Championship.
Kenny Dalglish is also hoping to beat Manchester United and Arsenal to the signing of Blackburn defender Phil Jones.
King Kenny watched the 19-year-old who can also play as a midfielder in action several times this season and he is now set to materialize his interest.
Liverpool are reportedly ready to meet the player’s release clause, which stands at £16 million, meaning they are very close to signing the England Under-21 international.
The player will reportedly jump at the opportunity to join the Anfield outfit, and only last minute bids from Manchester United or Arsenal could scupper the deal.
