Liverpool confident of signing Martin Zubimendi

Liverpool are confident of signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in the summer transfer window, according to The Times. The report has claimed that Liverpool hope that the midfielder will now push for a move to Anfield.

Zubimendi will cost £51 million in transfer fees, and Liverpool are willing to pay it. The one sticking point is that the Premier League club may not be able to afford to pay it in full because of paying £60 million for Dominik Szoboszlai and £35 million for Alexis Mac Allister in summer of 2023.

Liverpool finished third in the Premier League table last season and will be aiming to win the title under new manager Arne Slot. Zubimendi, 25, scored four goals and provided one assist in 29 starts and two substitute appearances in La Liga last season. The Spain international also played eight times in the UEFA Champions League for La Real last season.
