Liverpool are lining up a surprise move for out-of-favour Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, according to the Express.
The highly rated 22 year old moved to the Nou Camp from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer for a fee in the region £9.7m, but is yet to make a league appearance for the Catalan club with manager Luis Enrique opting for Claudio Bravo as his first choice.
Ter Stegen has played every minute of Barca’s Champions League and Copa del Rey campaign and has spoken of his joy at playing for the Spanish giants though his lack of game-time could see him move on to pastures new.
Liverpool are in the market for someone to provide competition for first choice shot-stopper Simon Mignolet, who has come under fire after several unconvincing performances under Reds boss Brendon Rodgers.
The Merseyside club have also been linked with moves for Chelsea’s Petr Cech and Norberto Neto of Fiorentina.
