According to Marca, Champions League finalists Liverpool are monitoring Thomas Strakosha as they prepare to break the bank in order to bring a new goalkeeper to Anfield. The 23-year-old Lazio keeper has been with the club since 2012, and in that time he’s been growing in the role at a rapid rate. He’s still a few years away from his prime, and while he may not be considered amongst the elite in European football, he’s certainly on the rise.
The Reds are looking to find a replacement for Loris Karius, who is still recovering from his woeful performance in the UCL final against Real Madrid where he almost single-handedly cost Jurgen Klopp’s men the game. Strakosha, on the other hand, appears to have all the momentum in the world, and in the past, he’s sighted Manuel Neuer and Gianluigi Buffon as two of his biggest inspirations who he has attempted to imitate.
