Liverpool are interested in signing Jonathan Ikone from Lille in the summer transfer window, according to Anfield Central. The report has claimed that the Premier League giants believe that they can get the 23-year-old attacker for an affordable fee from Lille despite the French club winning the Ligue 1 title this season.
Lille pipped Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain to the Ligue 1 title this season against the odds. It was a remarkable feat, but it is very likely that the French club will lose some of their best players to bigger clubs in Europe despite qualifying for the Champions League next season. Ikone made 26 starts and 11 substitute appearances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
Ikone is a very versatile attacking player who can operate as a winger, upfront or as a number 10. Anfield Central claims that Lille want €40 million as transfer fee for the 23-year-old France international.
