Daily Mirror has suggested that Liverpool are weighing up a January bid for Fiorentina goalkeeper Norberto Murara Neto.
The Reds manager Brendan Rodgers wants the Brazilian to provide competition for Simon Mignolet and has been told it would take around £2 million to recruit the 25-year-old in January.
Namely, Neto will be out of contract in the summer and he is almost certain to reject any new contract offer.
However, the latest reports claim the Brazilian has all but decided to join rivals Juventus when his deal expires in the summer, although Liverpool still have time to hijack the bid.
Neto has been with Fiorentina since January 2011, but he only established himself as a first team regular last season.
The talented shot-stopper has amassed a total of 59 Serie A appearances for Viola, but everything suggests he will have left Artemio Franchi by the time the 2015/2016 season starts.
