Liverpool eyeing Gray bid

The Metro understands that Liverpool are considering making an offer for Birmingham City starlet Demarai Gray.

The eighteen year old broke into the Championship side’s first team last season, and has made twenty-three appearances in all competition so far this year.

The Merseyside club are weighing up a January bid for the winger, though they face competition from Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg.

A deal was put in place by the Reds when they loaned Jordan Ibe to the Blues last season, so that they would be able to match any offer for Gray though Gary Rowett has urged the player to only consider moving to a top-four side.

Liverpool face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening in the second leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final, with the score currently 1-1 after last week’s match at Anfield, and the eight time winners at 11/2 to lift the trophy at Wembley on March 1.
