Sunday People is reporting that Liverpool are considering a summer swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi.
With Steven Gerrard set to leave and Lucas Leiva linked with a summer exit, the Reds are in the market for midfield reinforcements.
According to Sunday People, Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi.
The Reds have already contacted the La Liga side and inquired about the possibility of luring the 24-year-old to Anfield at the end of the current campaign.
Asier Illarramendi’s long-term future at Santiago Bernabeu is in doubt now that los Blancos have signed Lucas Silva from Cruzeiro and he could leave Real in search of first team football in the summer.
The former Real Sociedad hotshot has made a total of 47 league appearances for los Blancos since joining almost two years ago, but he only started 20 of those matches and does not appear to be in the first team plans of coach Carlo Ancelotti.
