Liverpool eyeing shock Valencia move

Liverpool are ready to make an £8m off to fierce rivals Manchester United for winger Antonio Valencia, according to the Express.

The Ecuador international, who is currently preparing for his sides match against Honduras which takes place in Curitiba tomorrow, is admired by Reds boss Brendan Rodgers who looks set to make an approach.

He has made almost two hundred appearances in all competitions for United since moving from Wigan Athletic in 2009, scoring twenty-one goals.

However, he was used sparingly last season and, given the chance, may opt for the settled environment at Anfield rather than the new regime which will begin at Old Trafford once new manager Louis van Gaal’s participation in Brazil is over.

An fee of £8m would represent just half of what former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson paid for Valencia, and should the transfer happen it would be the first time in fifty years a player has moved directly between the clubs.

We are supposed to be looking at other club’s talent pool, not their trash bin. And we should be competing with them for stars like Sanchez or Pedro, instead with this move, we will clear the path to improve their squad. Unacceptable!
