Liverpool favourites to sign Soldado
Spanish newspaper AS has learned that Liverpool have moved to pole position to sign Valencia striker Roberto Soldado.
The Reds seem to have made the Spain international their number one target to replace wantaway forward Luis Suarez.
According to AS, they are preparing a €30 million bid for the highly rated forward that should see them pip Tottenham to the player’s signature.
The mere fact Valencia officials have started the search for a new striker is enough to suggest they are ready to cash in on Soldado.
The 28-year-old has managed to prove his worth at the biggest stage, netting 59 goals in 101 La Liga appearances for los Che.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are also closing in on Valencia full-back Aly Cissokho, who is expected to provide competition for Jose Enrique at Anfield.
Yannick Sagbo set for Hull move
Hull City have reached an agreement with Evian over the purchase of striker Yannick Sagbo, L’Equipe has revealed.
It is no secret that the Tigers are searching for attacking reinforcements, even after signing Danny Graham on a season-long loan from Sunderland.
Hull City were hoping to lure Lyon forward Jimmy Briand to KC Stadium, but after the former France international rejected a switch to England they have turned their attention to Evian star Yannick Sagbo.
With the player’s deal set to expire in a year’s time, L’Equipe reports the two clubs have already agreed on the transfer fee.
As a result, Sagbo will travel to England on Tuesday to discuss personal terms with the newly promoted side.
Everything suggests the transfer will be completed in the coming days, allowing Steve Bruce to start using the player who has managed 6 goals and as many assists in 35 league matches last season.
PSG set to offload Bodmer
Le Parisien is reporting that Paris Saint-Germain hope to cash in on midfielder Mathieu Bodmer by the end of the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old has returned to Parc des Princes after his six-month loan at Saint Etienne expired, but he is not in the first team plans of new boss Laurent Blanc.
Paris Saint-Germain are, therefore, looking to get rid of the player in the summer, with another midfielder Clement Chantome also nearing the exit door.
Mathieu Bodmer, who was regarded as one of Ligue 1’s top midfielders just a couple of years back, should have no shortage of offers, with a number of top flight sides keen on his services.
According to Le Parisien, Rennes, Bordeaux and Toulouse have all expressed desire to sign the experienced midfielder this summer.
Mathieu Bodmer arrived at PSG in a cut-price deal from Lyon in 2010 and has since made 63 league appearances for the Saints, scoring 6 goals.
