Liverpool have no interest in signing RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner this summer, according to James Pearce of Liverpool Echo. In fact, Pearce claims no striker is currently on the agenda of manager Jürgen Klopp, despite a number of reports linking the Reds with Werner.
Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have been doing an incredible job upfront this season. The club have no intention of allowing any one of the three to leave, and they believe that Danny Ings, Dominic Solanke and Rhian Brewster will provide enough cover for Firmino in the No. 9 role. Daniel Sturridge, who is currently on loan at West Bromwich Albion, will likely be sold, while the decision on the future of Divock Origi still hasn’t been made.
Brewster, who turns 18 in April, has been heralded by Klopp to be the next one to make the step from the U23 to the first team. His season has been completely destroyed by an injury in January, and he has undergone surgery on his ankle and knee since. His recovery is progressing well, and the manager expects him fully fit and ready for action by July.
