Liverpool have held talks with the representatives of Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to German magazine Kicker.
The 18-year-old winger has been in much demand for the past couple of months, with Bayern Munich going furthest to pursue their interest by submitting an actual bid, reportedly of £35 million, which Chelsea rejected. Manchester United and Barcelona have also been linked.
The sparkling talent, which is becoming more obvious by the game, has earned Hudson-Odoi his first England call-up during the latest international break, and he justified it with a great performance against Montenegro.
However, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri says the winger should not be judged based on one game against a “lowly” Montenegro side. The Italian isn’t doubting his quality and believes his time will come soon, but he obviously feels his matchday choices, which have given Hudson-Odoi only six Premier League and 13 cup appearances at club level this season, were the right ones.
It is believed that Liverpool are looking for a young wide forward to provide depth at the position, as well as a strong basis for a future team which already boasts striker Rhian Brewster.
