Liverpool are once again being linked with Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly as manager Jurgen Klopp seeks a way to make sure that the current injury crisis that’s hit his centre-back department doesn’t happen again.
To ease their problems, Liverpool signed Ozan Kabak on loan from Schalke and Ben Davies from Preston North End on the final day of the January window, but Kabak needs time to adapt while Davies hasn’t been given a chance at all yet. Koulibaly, on the other hand, would bring loads of top-level experience and quality, and the prospect of him being paired up with Virgil van Dijk in the heart of defence is truly a mouth-watering one.
According to Bild, Napoli could be forced to sell the Senegal international due to Covid-related financial issues, and Klopp wants his employers to act. At the age of 29 and with two years remaining on his contract, this summer might be the last chance for the Serie A club to get a fair price for his services.
