Liverpool are ready to make a move for Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic, according to the Express.
The 28 year old moved to the Vicente Calderon last summer, and has played for them thirty-nine times so far this season, scoring twenty goals.
His last appearance came in yesterday evening’s Champions League quarter final defeat to reigning champions Real Madrid, and a move to Anfield would almost certainly see him miss out in featuring in next season’s competition with Liverpool currently seven points shy of the Premier League top four.
Prior to his move to La Liga, Mandzukic had spells with Bayern Munich, VFL Wolfsburg, Dinamo Zagreb, NK Zagreb and Marsonia – the club with which he began his career.
Internationally, he has been capped fifty-seven times for Croatia, scoring seventeen goals – two of which came in a 4-0 win over Cameroon in the group stages of last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
