Liverpool in hunt for Simao

(GSM) – Liverpool are said to be interested in Atletico Madrid’s Simao Sabrosa and are planning an £8million bid for the Portuguese winger.

Meanwhile, the player, who is currently preparing for the World Cup with the rest of the Portuguese squad, has admitted his interest in playing in the Premier League.

With one year left on his contract with Atletico, Simao may be a cheap buy for Rafa Benitez who is reportedly a fan of the winger.

Therefore Liverpool may want to sign the 30-year-old who is interested in a Premier League switch.

Simao is quoted as saying in the Daily Star: “Nobody has spoken with me in the last days about this subject.

“I only say that some people in Madrid have suggested that Atletico are preparing my sale, but I don’t know too much.

“I have always been interested in playing in the Premier League, but my head is in the World Cup and I have a deal with Atletico.”
