Liverpool are reportedly planning a £6 million bid for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner according to the website goal.com.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is supposedly looking to bolster his strike options for next season and sees the Danish youngster as the perfect candidate.
Bendtner, 20, has recieved limited opportunities in the Arsenal line up due to the presence of Emmanuel Adebayor, Robin van Persie and Eduardo at the Emirates.
However, it may be unlikely that Wenger will be willing to sell the player, especially to one of the ‘Top Four’. With the rumours linking Adebayor with a move away from London and the injury troubles with van Persie and Eduardo, Wenger may look to give Bendtner a place in the starting line-up next season after all.
Benitez is ready to offer around £6 million should Arsenal accept the interest, and the move could see current Liverpool striker Peter Crouch leave the club.
Bendtner was once labelled as one of the most promising strikers in Europe and showed glimpses of his potential during last season. Danish legend John Sivebaek once said: “His speed and technique remind me of Thierry Henry, but there is also a little bit of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in his challenging style.”
