Liverpool are on the verge of completing a surprise deal for Chelsea striker Domonic Solanke, according to the Mirror.
The nineteen year old failed to agree a new deal at Stamford Bridge, and now Liverpool are ready swoop in as they look to strengthen ahead of a return to the Champions League.
He is set to move to Anfield on a free transfer though the Blues will receive compensation of around £3m due to him being under twenty-four.
Solanke failed to make a single appearance for the Champions last season, and actually hasn’t featured for the club at all since he made his debut in a 6-0 Champions League win over Maribo in October 2014.
He did have a successful loan spell with Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem the following season, where he scored seven times in twenty-six appearances while internationally he has been capped three times for England’s U21s.
