Liverpool are interested in signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona in the January transfer window, according to Goal. Barcelona want to offload the former Liverpool attacking midfielder, and the Brazil international himself is keen on a return to England.
Coutinho was a huge success during his spell at Liverpool. Although things have not worked out for the 29-year-old at Barcelona, he remains a very good player who would make Villa better and stronger in attacking midfield.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp worked with Coutinho at Anfield and has spoken highly of the Brazilian before. The Barcelona no. 14 has made five starts and seven substitute appearances in La Liga so far this season, scoring two goals in the process. Coutinho has also made four substitute appearances in the Champions League for Barcelona so far this campaign.
