According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are interested in signing Willian Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, though there have been no talks between the clubs as of yet.
Liverpool will probably need to replace Joel Matip, whose contract expires at the end of the season and who missed a large chunk of the ongoing campaign due to an ACL injury, and Pacho appears to be considered a fine candidate for the role of the long-term successor for the experienced Cameroonian.
At the age of 22, Pacho has 10 caps for Ecuador under his belt. This season, he has made Bundesliga appearances for Eintracht, all of them for the full 90 minutes which is obviously impressive. He hasn’t found the back of the opposition net from his position in the heart of defence, though he has recorded two assists.
Pacho is under contract with the Bundesliga side until 2028, and his price is believed to be in excess of €50 million.
🔴 Eintracht Frankfurt, still keen about the interest from @LFC in Willian #Pacho!
But been told there’s no contact between the clubs at this stage. #LFC
