Liverpool are interested in signing Joao Pedro from Fluminense, according to Brazilian outlet Globo.
Pedro is a 17-year-old striker, at the very beginning of his professional career having made just two senior appearances for his club. However, he scored an incredible five goals in those two games and took as little as anybody to put himself on the map of the football world. He is also quite capable of a good performance on the left attacking flank.
Fluminense already have a pre-contract with Watford in place, but the deal is of such nature that it allows other clubs still to bid for his services. It would, however, take a relatively large bid (given his age) to prize him away.
Liverpool reportedly aren’t in the market for big-name signings this summer. Having reached their second consecutive Champions League final and pushed Manchester City to the last day in a thrilling Premier League race, they believe their team is more-less complete. They would, however, like a young, versatile forward for rotational purposes, given that Daniel Sturridge looks set to leave Anfield with his contract expiring next month.
