Liverpool are watching RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner closely, and are considering a move for him in the summer, Independent have reported.
The football world is currently singing praises for the Reds’ attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, but the lack of proper cover for any one of them has also been pointed out often.
Timo Werner is an attacker that would fit Jürgen Klopp’s philosophy well. He’s a hard-working player, highly mobile and always eager to press high up the pitch, while being a solid, creative goal-scorer. He has so far accumulated 18 goals and four assists in 37 appearances in all competitions for the German outfit this season.
Liverpool have already clinched the deal to bring Leipzig’s standout player Naby Keita to Anfield come July, but whether Werner will be making the same switch remains to be seen. The striker has in past suggested he would like to play for Manchester United, but at the moment Liverpool are the ones showing more interest in his signature.
