Liverpool have offered a contract to Barcelona full-back Dani Alves, according to the Metro.
The Brazil international’s deal with the Catalan club is set to expire at the end of the season, and has been free to pen a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside of Spain since January.
With Glen Johnson set to leave Anfield in the summer, Reds’ boss Brendan Rodgers is on the lookout for a replacement and has identified Alves as his top target.
They have also been linked with a move for Leeds United’s Sam Byram, who despite making over one hundred senior career appearances so far, has no way near the experience on the Barca man.
In over six years at the Nou Camp, Alves has racked up three-hundred and thirty-one appearances, scoring twenty goals and winning a whole host of major honours along the way including four league titles and two Spanish cups, while he has also lifted the Champions League trophy on two occasions.
