Premier League club Liverpool are in the market for a new goalkeeper despite bringing Loris Karius at the beginning of the current season.
The Reds’ struggles in goal are well-documented as Karius and Mignolet fail to convince Jurgen Klopp of their qualities with strings of inconsistent performances throughout the current campaign.
And as the German tactician looks to start to rebuild his squad for next season, reports have emerged linking Liverpool with Saint Etienne shot stopper Stephane Ruffier.
The 30-year-old goalie has been already linked with Everton and West Ham, who are reportedly to have sent scouts to watch him in Ligue 1 action earlier in the season.
According to reports from Daily Star, Liverpool have joined the race and are considered firm favourites to beat their Premier League opposition to a footballer who has thus far made 190 appearances for the French club.
