talkSPORT has revealed that Liverpool are planning an ambitious swoop for AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy.
The Reds clearly lack cover for strikers Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, and Brendan Rodgers will be looking to address the issue in the winter.
According to talkSPORT, Liverpool have made Stephan El Shaarawy one of their top targets in the January transfer window.
The Italy international continues to be linked with a move away from San Siro even if the club chiefs remain adamant the youngster will not be sold.
El Shaarawy, who is currently out with a foot injury, exploded onto the biggest stage last season, scoring 16 goals in 37 Serie A appearances.
However, some under-par performances in the second part of the campaign hinted the forward was not really a finished product.
The 20-year-old has so far earned 10 Italy caps, but he faces a real battle to make the Azzurri’s World Cup squad.
