Premier League giants Liverpool are considering a summer move for Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao, according to Sport.
The Reds enjoyed a bright start to the new season, defeating Arsenal 4-3 at the Emirates, but left-back Alberto Moreno was well below par in North London.
Manager Jurgen Klopp appears set to recruit a new left-sided defender and he seems to have set his sights on Real Madrid’s Fabio Coentrao.
The 28-year-old returned to Santiago Bernabeu after a loan stint with Monaco, but he does not appear to be in the first team plans of coach Zinedine Zidane.
Liverpool plan to take advantage of the situation by offering to sign the full-back on loan with an option to buy.
Having missed the Euro 2016 finals through a thigh injury, Coentrao will not be ready to return into action for a couple of months at least, but the Reds don’t seem to mind.
